Designed in the 1920s by a Mr Jean Chavanis in Lyon, France, the design of the iconic Pirouett desk lamp was inspired by the contemporary design ideals of the Art Deco movement for objects combining beauty, ergonomics and usefulness. The top half of the lamp swivels fully 360 degrees, and the head itself is articulated so the light can be angled up and down to where it's needed most. The heavy lead base ensures the light remains stable. Pirouett lamps were originally manufactured in Lyon, and later in Paris, France. This model is also referred to as 'Nizza' (Nice). In great condition, with very little pitting to the chrome finish. Some baize material has been stuck to the base at some point in the past, which we have left in place. The lamp is newly rewired with a 2-pin EU plug, we are including a black UK adaptor. We are qualified for PAT testing, and this lamp has been inspected and passed.
